Sunny Sunday

Sunday was even busier. We went to the Manhattan 8th Ward that meets in a chapel right above the temple. The ward seems great, I'm sure they were a lil overwhelmed with 40 new BYU interns. Joel met up with us for church and it was great to see him again!

After church, we ate at a cafe for brunch. I had fluffy french toast and Scott had this yummy pesto/mozzarella omelet. I know, I know brunch on a Sunday...we may be justifying...but it's like we're on vacation right?! After that, we changed and made some stops for a scavenger hunt I had to complete for class. We rented bikes and rode all through Central Park. This is one of my favorite things I have done here. We made a huge loop around the park. We saw the ponds, baseball fields, strawberry fields, fountains, etc. So many people were out once again. I'm surprised at how active this city is. I see people running on the busy sidewalks after work. And the park was full of joggers and bike riders. The route we took had lots of hills. When joggers pass you up while riding a bike going uphill...that's probably when you know you have eaten one too many sweet pork salads from my beloved Cafe Rio. Talk about embarrassing. Scott, the cheerleader, was there with encouraging words. We did cover alot of ground on those bikes. We saw lots of street performers.

Well...clearly I wasn't too concerned with my performance on the bike...we headed to John's Pizza for dinner. This was my first NY pizza this trip and John did not let us down. I loved the pizza.
Next, we headed to the Brooklyn Bridge. We hustled to get there right at sunset. My grandma loves New York City and told me I had to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset. It was on her bucket list. When she walked it last October there was a dog parade. How funny is that?! I have noticed that surprisingly alot of people have dogs in the city. I guess it goes to show people love their pooches everywhere you go. Anyways, this was a sight to see. Probably one of the best views I have ever seen. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming!

It was our last night in the city for it was a good way to go out.
